a daring and disturbing love story
motorcat6025 August 2006
The two lead actors, David Ilku and Karen Sillas deliver strong and brave performances. This story line examines the darker side of chance romantic encounters. Joe and Maya are two lost souls who hope to find some sense of normal within each other. The writer and director took a big risk with the movie going audience. She has written a male lead character being portrayed so damaged and vulnerable it may make some men uncomfortable. This film has a very European feel to it. No special effects. It is a story about the complexities of the human condition. It had a great supporting cast. I was happy see an American film maker work with such care and thought.

A Risk not worth taking.

Warning: Spoilers
I love Karen Sillas but this is one terrible movie. David Ilku has to be about as bad as actors come and not for one second does anyone act like a normal, rational human being. Trumped up crises, boiler plate characterization, and a completely unsympathetic, "misunderstood hero." Sillas is still good but even a loyal fan shouldn't be subjected to this.
