Good idea, bad flick!
shepardjessica15 August 2004
This is pretty bad, even for an exploitation movie, but the lead actress is well-cast and attractive. Good black and white cinematography and schmaltzy typical music. This type of film is strangely compelling (besides the obvious attraction of the "nudity"), especially the black and white ones. They are slightly more realistic that soap operas and create a reality all their own (they're like home movies of sad and unhappy people in America).

A 3 out of 10. Some of the better exploitation flicks (THE AGONY OF LOVE, SPIDER BABY, THE SADIST) are quite enjoyable, but they stand out in a genre that isn't TOO concerned with quality.

but this is 1967

Mundane narrative of 'young innocent' trying to make it in tinsel town without having to sleep her way…..but this is 1967! So, it's great street scenes, great breast scenes, fantastic dialogue and b/w nakedness throughout.

Also we get a really bizarre stage auction where the aforementioned 'lady' passes her clothes to bidders and suffers a rape in lieu of rent.

PLUS - this classic '67 movie ends with a chloroformed lovely being led to a psychedelic orgy of momentous proportions.

FAB!
