Better than normal teaming of Tom Kennedy and Monte Collins, a second rate comedy team that wasn't often funny, made more amusing here because of the situation they find themselves in. As bumbling hotel detectives who would rather spend time doing crosswords than their job, they are forced by their irate boss to find out who's committing a rash of room robberies, only to encounter the criminal wearing a natural fur coat...its own.
Kennedy and Collins aren't only hampered by their own incompetence, but by various guests and other obstacles, such as a radio crime show that makes them think what they're hearing is real, and a kid with a slingshot. When they discover the culprit, they turn into cowering chickens adding more humor. I'd prefer to see Laurel and Hardy in this situation, or maybe even Tom's brother Edgar, but having seen other shorts of Kennedy and Collins, it's obvious that this one is a lot better than most of theirs.
