Never bring wives to a men's convention.
mark.waltz9 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The oddball team of Gus Schilling and Richard Lane are boasting about their ladykillier skills in France during the war, bringing their wives to a convention of veterans which happens to be broadcast over the radio so the wives can listen in while playing cards. Of course the men don't realize that the wives are listening in so there's all sorts of hell to pay when in the middle of the convention someone named Fifi shows up. I didn't find the situation at all either believable or very funny, and while the rubbery faced Schilling was an acceptable bit player, star he is not, and his shorts have been below average. Lane seems more like an action based actor and comedy doesn't suit him either. The wives are completely abusive, but then the husbands are both fools. The only comedy came with me realizing that I was sitting there like Buster Keaton, completely stone faced.
