Crudely made early fetish effort from Damiano
lor_24 May 2010
I watched the SWV reissue of this film (on a twofer) without knowing it was the work of porn great Gerard Damiano, and it offers very little of interest to fans of his work.

Threadbare plot of a magic ring allowing the heroine to conjure up partners for her sexual fantasies is a mere excuse for explicit sex footage. Key fetishes highlighted (and recurring) here are: toe sucking; light bondage; anus-fingering; and masturbating with a whip handle. A gratuitous scene of the heroine choking a girl to death with her whip (?!) is included as something of a diversion. IMDb credits Damiano himself as playing the beggar-in-blackface in the film's intro scene, but I did not recognize him; perhaps Larry Hunter listed as "hobo" is the Al Jolson wannabe in question.

Cast, including some famous porn talent, goes through the motions in various combinations. As in other early hardcore efforts, the key "money" shots are few & far between, whereas later they would become the raison d'etre for rounding out a XXX porn effort.

Shot silent with some minimal post-synch dialog, film is badly made. Odd use at the opening of a piano score for silent-era pathos is ridiculous.

Sexy Tina Russell keeps this early 70's porn item on track
Woodyanders25 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It's always a titillating treat to see sumptuous long-haired brunette Tina Russell strut her sizzling stuff in a lead role and she sure doesn't disappoint here as a lovely young lass who acquires a magical ring with the ability to make any and all of her carnal fantasies come true. Russell not only captures and conveys with touching expressiveness the loneliness and sexual frustration of her character, but also participates in all kinds of libidinous activities ranging from threesomes to bondage to lesbianism with her trademark tremendously alluring and unbridled passion and vitality. Moreover, director Gerard Damiano doesn't waste time with any needless tedious filler, with nothing but wall-to-wall sex after the basic plot set-up in the first few minutes. It also helps that the luscious Laura Cannon pops up as one of Russell's fantasy girls. The eclectic score alternates between groovy-grinding funk and sweeping romantic classical music. Recommended viewing for Tina Russell fans.
