- She begs a loan from her merchant, but he asks for physical favors from her; she refuses. She then goes to her aristocrat former lover to beg but he is also broke. She embraces and kisses him, seeking physical solace but he gently refuses. Finally, she wheedles a key from a young clerk to unlock poison by using her feminine wiles.
