Remembered this show as a kid. Back in the 1980s. As really the late, great David Brinkley was the best. And that he asked the tough, no- nonsense questions. And had a great panel, the brainy George Will and the sometimes annoying but somethings amusing Sam Donaldson, then the White House Correspondent for ABC.
That was when news programs were all about the news. Nothing else. But the news! As they ask very difficult questions and if you can really think about it. Did not give the household name guests special treatment.
Asking the questions that the viewer would want to ask. Not playing around for glitz and glam. Just asking all the right questions without really pushing buttons!
RIP David Brinkley, you were a legend. Still are!
