Les's talents are shown to their fullest in this hilarious mixture of comedy and music. The Great Dawsoni is desperate to get his feet on the ground. Zebadiah Twine attempts to saw a Roly Poly in half. Confusion reigns in a doctor's surgery and Cissie and Ada are out on the town.
Les returns with his first full series in over five years, bringing with him guests John Nettles, Shirley Bassey and Elio Pace. A performer for the entire run is dancer Lia Malcolm.
Les is joined by Status Quo, Randy Crawford and Leslie Grantham - though is worried that Grantham is using his appearance as an excuse to plug his own show.
Les is in a self-confessed giggly mood as he introduces David Essex and Opportunity Knocks winner Brenda Cochrane. There's also an appearance from Brian Blessed, who's never sure when it's his cue to enter.
Les asks guest Dennis Waterman to help him break into acting, but his small part as a butler isn't to his taste. Providing music are Elkie Brooks, Gerard Kenny and the Roly Polys.
Les presents music from Evelyn Glennie, Rose-Marie and Chas and Dave, plus musical comedy from double act Diamond and Layton. There's also a dangerous sword-swallowing routine from old hall variety magician Zebediah Twine.
The final show in the series features guests The Fairer Sax, Leo Sayer and Christopher Timothy. Lia Malcolm performs her final dance with guest Wayne Eagling, while the penguin that has cameo'd all series finally gets a credited role.
Les presents a post-Christmas festive edition, welcoming guests including Michael Ball, Marti Webb and Stuart Anderson. Les also attempts a duet with John Williams, and asks Terry Wogan if it's true he's trying to take back Blankety Blank.
