One that got away.

One of the few programmes that has had me in uncontrollable tears of laughter. Something that in these days where a knowing smile makes a comedy show, we so lack. Just utterly silly slapstick humour, but brilliantly, with the best timing and physical performances you could hope for.

Some of the physical action comedy wouldn't look out of place in a parkour video.

And of course it was only shown on channel 4 very late at night. Perhaps it just wasn't ironic enough for the trendy metropolitan programme planners, who knows?

A sad miss, could have been huge.

Good Comedy performances, Why didn't they make more?
terryperring1046 February 2009
What really needs to be said about this obscure almost forgotten comedy, is that if your a fan of Laurel and Hardy then you are going to really like this programme. Its based on two half brothers who both think that they are the boss but the other is having none of it. They also think they are intelligent and attractive to women but are sadly at a loss as for how to talk to the opposite sex. The situations they get themselves into are hilarious; far-fetched and ridiculous but it works because the comic timing of both the actors (Darren Boyd and CavanClerkin) is spot on.

A lot of the comedy stems from physical slapstick and, while not being a huge fan of slapstick itself, their performances are so convincing and the situations so ridiculous, that they get away with it. Its like: Mr Bean meets Mr Bean but with some added arrogance and ego. Its a shame they never made more than the one series.

Quirky and fun sitcom but nothing special

Warning: Spoilers
Los Dos Bros originally started out as a comedy lab episode. For whatever reason it took Channel 4 two years before they decided to commission it to a full series (of 6 episodes). The series is about two half-brothers, both are as far as I know unnamed throughout the series. The brothers go on a series of adventures. They usually start off having a normal day and then end up falling out with each other or getting in trouble. Their day(s) is discussed with a psychiatrist.

The series was written by and stars some of the team behind Green Wing. It features the same quirky, slightly surreal humour and a lot of nicely edited visual gags (mainly slapstick based). Fans of Green Wing would really enjoy this; for me it just isn't that funny. The series cuts between the brother's daily adventures and an interview with a psychiatrist. This is a nice twist to the old sitcom format; it can make an episode difficult to follow though. The acting is decent throughout the two leads of Darren Boyd and Cavan Clerkin are particularly good at playing a pair of idiotic losers.

Summary: A creative and quirky sitcom which will please fans of Green Wing and Smack The Pony etc but it does nothing for me. It is well produced and acted but does not really stand out. The series was only broadcast once as far as I know never repeated. At the time of this review it is available on 4OD.
