Standard news talk with an outstanding host.
yarborough11 October 2001
The only reason I started watching this interview/debate show was because of Paula Zahn, who is strikingly gorgeous. After seeing a few episodes I found that she has an excellent sense of journalism. She knows how to ask the right questions of her guests, who often debated amongst each other on the latest news. Unfortunately, like "Larry King Live," the show tried to cram too much issues into too little time, and the often heated debates were cut off just as the guests were warming up. "The Edge" aired right before "The O'Reilly Factor," which was the same show but with a highly emotional male host (whose principals I admire). I first tuned into "The Edge" during its last two months on air, in the spring of 2001. At that time, Zahn's most frequent guest was former attorney Barbara Olson, and every single episode dealt with the Chandra Levy disappearance. Unfortunately, during the summer of 2001, Paula Zahn was fired from FOX for an alleged breach of contract and she went to CNN. Even more unfortunate, Barbara Olson was killed on September 11, 2001 when her airplane crashed into the Pentagon. I became quickly amazed at how fast things had changed, with both the show and Barbara Olson gone. The Chandra Levy story went with them.
