super duper roo!

This program is criminally under-rated especially when compared to the frankly disappointing Bodger & Badger. It was based around the adventures and mishaps of radio DJ Dennis and his wisecracking, mischievous kangaroo, Clive and it's fair to say that entertaining adventures and comical happenings were always on the play-list! Strong characters, cracking humour and an impressive multicultural cast made this a must watch show back in the early 90s. Perhaps the only thing that lets the show down are certain tired Aussie stereotypes but Wayne Jackman's superbly understated performances as Dennis and the antics of Clive more than make up for this minor gripe. There must have been some ratings issues with the BBC otherwise this enjoyable Aussie romp would still be rocking the world today. One thing is for sure - it was nice watching Radio Roo.

i watched Radio Roo through my childhood and as far as I'm aware i am the only person who has even watched it. why did others not watch it is a mystery to me! it was one of the best children's programmes on in the 90's. now aged 18 i still watch it on video and it still cracks me up. i just love it. i think it is far more interesting than other children's programmes about now. i was so disappointed when they stopped putting episodes on the t.v. i would really like to know why. the ratings must have been really low but it was a great shame and i wish one day there might be a few episodes. i'll keep my fingers crossed but don't expect anything! if you can get a hold on a copy of it i do recommend watching it for a good laugh.

Simply Amazing!

This show is what i used to live for in my childhood, i remember all the evenings of coming home and sitting in front of the TV watching this, chucclevision and art attack.. bless them all, children's TV has never gotten over the loss of this program.. sure bodger and badger was good, but nothing ever came close to this show.. at least for me!

I also have had the curious experience of not being able to trace anyone else who recalls this program, and was beginning to think it was the product of a childhood imagination until i came here. as stated above, this show did not receive the attention it should have and its cancellation marked a grim day in the history of children's TV.

Thank you for confirming that i wasn't nuts!

Radio Roo was an historic breakthrough for Children's Entertainment it broke new barriers to become a truly monumental pillar of my childhood.

Dennis was a superb character everything you could wish for...

I always felt that Clive provided a more than adequate foil for Dennis it what was only credited by a Children's BAFTA award I believe.

I do not know why this show was axed or whether it made it onto DVD for all to see in years to come...

With all that I wish that others would comment on this show to give it the necessary credit and respect that it truly deserves

I hope my children and grandchildren grow up watching back episodes of Radio Roo!!!
