'Pet of the Year' releases weren't the most consistent. Some really focused on the winner and delivered a lot of scenes. Other years would see the lady get scattered amongst other Pets much like a regular video or a 'Play-Off' edition. '2001' falls in the middle. The winner - Zdenka Podkapova - is half of the segments and no denying a worthy winner making this a solid Penthouse title.
"Zdenka - Pet of the Year" shows you everything you need to know visually about this lovely tanned skinned Czech blonde in a great leadoff scene (4 mins). "Overexposed" continued to highlight her tight, petite frame delivering some closeups as she gets out of a silver top & skintight black booty shorts in a hall (5 mins). "Black on White" has her on a rooftop in black latex, sunglasses and lotion comes into play which is a nice sight (7 mins). After three straight scenes of Zdenka, we go to one of the only two Pets featured here. "Vicca" finds this blonde in a black latex dress as she gets naked (3 mins). "Melissa Ann" is the final Pet - once again blonde, but very busty - stripping on a couch from a red top & skirt with some yummy closeups (6 mins).
"Red and Blue" is Vicca & Melissa in an outdoor girl/girl where they both wear colored wigs matching their skin tight tops (Vicca - red, Melissa - blue). There's some nice sights for sure, but it goes on too long (10 mins). "Zdenka" takes us back to our #1 lady in an Asian inspired backdrop / piece of clothing she wears. She spends a considerable amount of time rubbing her kitty when the camera isn't focused on her butt (10 mins). "Double Trouble" is another Vicca, Melissa girl/girl but things get much hotter when Vicca spreads Melissa and it looks like she slips a finger inside of her (9 mins).
Having more ladies or focusing on fewer comes down to personal preference. Zdenka is hands down the best part of 'Pet of the Year 2001' though. The other two Pets, Vicca and Melissa Ann however supply a dose of explicit factor that Penthouse had become known for and many were fans of (me included). Some pink which Zdenka doesn't provide in her solos. A behind the scenes clip where she finds out she won PotY and gets emotional was nice. Reminds you that this used to be a big deal to a model and worth something.
