I don't care how futuristic any arcade might be, if I see a Rampage machine sitting in the corner I will be feeding it money. Rampage was ported to just about every system over the years and remains as much fun today is it was back in 1986.

The player can choose between three monsters: George - a giant ape, Lizzie - a dinosaur, or Ralph - huge werewolf. They were experimented on by Scumlabs and transformed from humans into city-wrecking monsters of mayhem. The purpose of the game is to smash the buildings until they collapse while fighting off the attacking choppers and tanks, maybe munching on a hapless civilian or two while you're at it.

Simple, but loads of fun. It's a shame that it never entered into pop culture as much as Pac-Man, Mario, or Sonic.

I played this on the 8-bits, specifically the Amstrad, and seeing it featured in 8-Bit Christmas (albeit on the NES) reminded me of it.

And I loved it. Who doesn't love at the age of eight thumping the crap out of anything and everything that moved? And to top it all buildings can fall down too if you thump them enough too.

Yes it was never as addictive as Pac-Man or going to be as cultural as Mario/Sonic/insert name of other major computing character/series here, but for a good 10/15 minute blast of fun you could have done far worse in the 1980s.

Okay the computer AI (particularly on the Amstrad version of this game) was a bit hit and miss in single player mode and sometimes it felt like you were the only one doing anything useful contributing to the rampage but at least you could thump them for doing something stupid, even if they never learnt :)

The game centers around three characters:

George: He is a gorilla-like monster who is one of the main Protagonists in the series

Lizzie: She is a dinosaur-like monster who is one of the main Protagonists in the series

Ralph: He is a werewolf-like monster who is one of the main Protagonists in the series

You play either character and try to destroy the city you're in and collect points

The game's graphics remain you of the good old days of video games the sound is good as well the controls are cranky but you get the hang of them and from there one it's smashing fun and that's where the game play is about just you having fun in this game

But the game is not for everyone in terms of how it can be challenging in some levels and having enemies coming at you to defeat you

But the game is one that brings back the good days

Rampage is one of the one of the coolest action video games! The characters, the action, and the sure thrill of adventure makes this game a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!

Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!

Graphics: The graphics are wonderful especially for the first Nintendo. The backgrounds are really beautiful! Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!

Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!

Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!

Overall: I have always loved Rampage! If you like excellent adventure games, monsters, and more then I strongly recommend you play this game!

When i first started playing Rampage in the early 90s, it was quite fun to button mash as a monster destroying buildings and cars and raking in the high score. Nowadays it is common for video games to have destructible environments, but Rampage was one of the games that started it all. Drawing inspiration from classic monster movies, this game can be found in Midway's Greatest arcade hits and a sequel World Tour came out for ps1 and other consoles in the late 90s which was great but not as good as the first one.

This is another childhood gem of mine and is one of my honorable mentions in favorate video games. Super sized monster movies has always been one of my favorate sub genres in horror I love the "Godzilla" films, "Tremors", "Them", "Kong: Skull Island", "Q the Winged Serpant" etc. it always had tremendous appeal to it. This game was a real treat to fans of that sub genre and just anyone that feels the need to destroy things or simply playing as the monster for once.

I like the designs of all three charcters whom are all unique, Ralph a giant Werewolf, Lizzie a giant Lizard, and George a giant ape both Lizzie and George obviously homages to "Godzilla" and "King Kong". You can play yourself but it's even more fun playing with two other people which increases the amount of destruction and fun. Though you can also fight each other if you want, though it would drain your health so only do it if all three of you know what your getting into.

There really isn't much to it this is the kind of game where you simply turn your brain off and have fun and theirs nothing wrong with that.

, you just simply go from city to city and destroy everything in your path, that's it it wasn't called "Rampage" for nothing. I like the designs of each of the cities all of there are unique and each is always a different chalange.

You have this tremendous freedom to simply destroy the buildings anyway you want which I really like. You can punch at the middle to destroy most of the midsection and side of a building, though punching the bottom of the foundation diagonally down will gurentee a faster collapse. You get to destroy and swat at hellecopters, bombers, and smash tanks which are a real nucence in that game as they pack a wallop.

For the soilders you eat them as well as regular citizens and sometimes a piece of meet to keep your life bar up. Though whatever you do don't touch anything electrical or even eat the tollet that will drain your health let alone really disgusting.

So for anyone seeking vintage video game classics or even a fan of Super Sized Monster movies this game packs a punch for you. "Rampage" is super sized fun.
