this movie showed the true story behind bullying-from how it all begins to the inevitable consequences in the end. when i finished watching this made for tv movie, i felt so angry. my anger had nothing to do with the acting (because it was convincingly well done) but had everything to do with the fact that this was based on a true story. tyler hynes did an amazing job portraying jonathan wamback and christopher jacot did such a good job as kyle simpson that i actually started to hate him. i really liked this movie because it was actually delivered in a realistic manner. i hope that everyone will watch this docudrama in the future and realise how serious bullying really is.

A made-for-TV movie that is about a teenage boy (who went to my high school) who has issues with bullying that ends up causing him serious problems.
koper_exodus7 November 2005
This movie was especially interesting for me, as I went to the same school as Jonothan Womback. He was attacked in the park around the corner from my house, which is a supposed picture-perfect suburbia. This incident occurred the year before I attended the high school so I did not know Jon personally. Although the situation was dramatized greatly for the movie, most of the facts are true. The character of Womback was altered to get maximum sympathy, as were the other characters in the movie, but it manages to get the desired effect. Unfortunately, this movie is not allowed to be played at my old high-school currently, and there continues to be a serious bullying problem. I think all viewers should realize that the story is based on a true one, but it has been modified to encourage certain reactions. That being said, it was modified tastefully, great acting really pulled this movie off. Despite my skepticism I was surprised at how good the movie was, but don't take everything that happens as strictly fact. Be a critical observer and realize that the producers of the movie had an agenda, beyond stopping bullying in our school systems.

I wish there was a copy of this film somewhere. I remember watching this but have not seen it since it aired on TV. Anyone know where a copy could be found?

A movie you haven't seen, but should
metzeger11 March 2002
I watched Tagged: The Jonathan Wamback Story expecting to see another typical made for tv movie, full of bad acting and a simple and uneffective storyline. Within the first 20 minutes of this film, I realized I was in for a treat. The acting is superb, the storyline is well developed and envoked a strong sense of hatred toward the "bad guys" and compassion toward the victim. Tyler Hynes plays the title character with skills beyond his years. Christopher Jacot played the role of the protagonist with perfection. I have to say that this is one of the best made for tv movies I've seen yet. It conveys a strong message about teenage violence with a lot of poise. 9 out of 10.

Kyle Simpson & David Brooks
butterfly1586216 February 2014
God bless you Jon. I was moved to tears when I watched how you were so brutally attacked and came from your coma with such courage and strength of character you are an inspiration to millions! Kyle Simpson & David Brooks should rot in jail for what they did. They are evil monsters and as for Kyle Simpson's witch of a mother she is the one responsible for making him a monster her attitude stinks and she should have been held to account for her actions also. True evil of epic proportions nothing good will come to them of that I am sure!! I hope you manage to live a fulfilled life with the love of your family I am sure you will and go on in strength with each passing day getting stronger and stronger

TV Movies are usually contrite and self seeded. This one stands alone as a great portrayal of an indecent and sad act! I firstly feel immeaditly for poor jon and what he had to go through, the movie shows him in a true style, not withholding any truths. I reccomend this movie to anyone.

Well Told Story
scott_page8012 March 2002
I watched this on Monday night up here on CTV. I found that it was told just like it was, it was well acted and portrayed by all actors. The Make-up was the best ive seen in a while, especially in a TV Movie. I think that this movie would do go on the BIG screen. This movie wasnt even going to be made, unless changes were made, and they were and it came off great. I hope that Mr. Womback will get the YOA changed and hope that things get better for Johnathan.

Jonathan Wamback is a fighter and will pull through
dmxgurl_3725 February 2005
In this movie, Jonathan Wamback as played by Tyler Hynes is a true survivor. This movie teaches us about the issues of bullying and how bullying turns into serious violence. Jonathan Womback was almost beaten to death by 14 teenagers in Ontario. I think that this movie will be a good video to show Jr. High Students what bullying is like. When I first saw this movie I was amazed at how Jonathan Womback survived this dreadful beating. The movie maybe dramatized but I still cant imagine what Jonathan went through. I even went home and thought about how I bullied people. I hope that this movie will show people what bullying does and the amount of people it hurts. I hope that Jonathan Wamback will pull through his injuries and to be very strong. I recommend this movie to anyone that likes to watch movies that are based upon true stories.

A real Tear-Jerker
yellow86625 March 2002
I taped the Jonathan Wamback story a little while ago, and I've watched it nearly a dozen times since. Tagged is based on the true story of a 9th grade boy from New Market, Ontario. On the last day of school, a gang of well-known school bullies beat Jonathan into a 90-day coma. The doctors didn't believe he would ever wake up, but his parents weren't going to give up on him. Though Jonathan did get out of his coma, there still are struggles he must face each day. Tyler Hynes plays Jon - WOW, strong acting. (The entire cast worked extremely well!) The real Jonathan also appears in some scenes during the movie and again at the end in a sort of wrap-up speech with Tyler. The movie was very well done, I really wish it weren't made for TV... It should definitely be made available to buy in stores. If you missed it, maybe it'll come on again so watch for it! Jonathan Wamback is now 18, back in school and continuing to recover. GO JON GO! :o)

Loved it.
intense-betch21 October 2007
I'm taking Civics&Careers this semester and every single movie in Civics has been horrible/boring...except one. The story of Jonathan touched me. We had to watch the movie then write at least a page of our opinion to the YoungOffendersAct (I believe the name of it was changed...according to a fellow student) and I found myself struggling not to write five. Because it was a Canadian movie I was actually pretty skeptical, but it's now become one of my favourite films. There were many scenes that I spent looking up at the ceiling (which by the way is kinda gross... I'd advise you not to look @ your school's ceiling, ever) trying not to cry in class. So basically, as a recap, I loved the movie

My thoughts
rogue300-17 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I think the movie was really well made.

I hate that people can be that cruel.

When I first saw the movie I started to cry and I really hope Jonathan is better now.

2 years ago someone I know got abused by a couple of people and the police did nothing about it.

So I hope the police will change and do something about all the things that happens.

I described the police in Sweden up there so you know.

If you ever get abused tell your parents, the police or your teacher etc.

Because if you don't they can't catch the bad guy and it can happen to other people to.

This is just my thoughts so you don't have to feel the same way.

Have a nice day and take care of each other.

This is a great film about a teenager overcoming both his physical and emotional pain. Played by Tyler Hynes, the story is based on Jonathan Wamback being bullied by a gang of teens. You really should watch it.
