The parrot trap
dbdumonteil21 May 2010
Based on a Guillaume Appollinaire story-the screenplay is faithful like a dog ,so if you read the short story,do not expect anything new- ,this is a rather cruel story .Probably the only time when the poet made an incursion into the thriller.

In a harbor ,a young sailor is trying to sell a parrot. He is accosted by a wealthy chic English lord who accepts to buy the bird, provided that he comes along with him to his house. It's actually a trap ,for the lord's wife cheated on him (did she really?we don't know) ,and as anyone must know, revenge is a dish best eaten cold. The cuckold's revenge will be dreadful and Machiavelian. Jacques Dufilho's most terrifying part.
