My mother and I have loved Steel Magnolias. When I watched the retrospective on the movie I grew to love it more. I had never known that the play and movie were based on the authors personal loss. It delves into the inner workings of the process and reasoning behind some of the choices the production team in made,with the commentaries from the screen writer, director and one of the actresses, Shirley Maclaine, it enriches the viewing experience.
I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes their drama with a touch of humor. It is the ensemble cast that really makes this movie shine.
