A satisfying, meaty melodrama
deickemeyer13 January 2017
A satisfying, meaty melodrama with the good, old contrasts, love and villainy, brought out sharply as is proper. Mr. Kerrigan and Miss Von Trump play the "mountain lovers" who feel for each other the real, old- fashioned, hug-me-tight love. Mr. Richardson and Miss Bush play the meddlers who try to break up the lovers' happiness. One is the mine owner's secretary and the other the mine owner's wife. They are most accomplished villains, skillful plotters and all that; but meet very well-deserved death from a blast. A very good picture of its kind, clear in both plot and pictures and commendably acted. A live-wire offering. - The Moving Picture World, August 17, 1912
