"Ka'pool Ka'pool, The Gluttonous Dog" !
elshikh428 November 2008
Well, that stands for what I used to hear in the Arabic dubbed version's opening credits. It was a catchy theme song where the name "Cubitus" became "Ka'pool". Btw, this version was impressive. The Arabic voices for all the characters were so right, especially (Mousa Hegazeen) as the lead.

I watched it at the beginning of the 1990s on the national Egyptian TV. The characters, so their clashes, were too funny. Just remember the lazy pedant white dog, the malicious black cat, the affable old inventor, and their young cute neighbor. The adventures were so entertaining, the pace was super, and some childish feel ruled it smartly; yet the thing I loved the most was the drawings.

I adored that distinct sense where everything is deliciously colorful and delightfully soft. For instance, the suburb, which the characters lived in, was the perfect suburb. The image's details were nice and polished. It's originally a Franco-Belgian comics strip that had been adapted to a Japanese cartoon series, so it managed to gather the best of the world's 2 sides; aestheticism and professionalism. It was the finest TV breakfast you can ever have.

Frankly, it was such an Odyssey to find out the original title of the show, and its actual nationality, to locate it on the IMDb's pages, so that I could have the chance to write about this lovely memory. I hope one day that I own the whole episodes; because "Ka'pool" or "Cubitus" was one of those works that you wish while watching if it never ends.
