wow, this is actually a really good flick. it is to me, everything indie movies stand for (or should stand for). Its a homage to every private eye, detective mystery ever made, and its hilarious in that sense. When the boss and her henchmen shoot up the detectives partner, It becomes a whole new world. Somehow the cheap violence doesn't come across as being cheap and its actually really stylish and cool.
It made me appreciate Shawn Goldberg so much more than 'Someone to love' ever could. If I were you I would check some of his older films mainly 'the transformation of Stanley lewis'. Shawn Goldberg, where ever you are, I salute you!
