Pleasant formula crime drama in the legendary (East) German Series
thursdaysrecords1 June 2019
A young mother flees hopeless domestic violence to start a new life with her daughter and the small-time-criminal who was in and out of prison while the mother endured her unhappy marriage of convenience. Many strange circumstances are revealed as the story takes its twists and turns. - Look for a cute side-plot with the elderly inspector and his longtime romantic interest; after 10 years of dating, the two October Romance love-birds just can't find their way to "making it official".

Polizeiruf 110 is the formidable "GDR" equivalent to the endless "Tatort" crime stories. Before the falling of the "Berlin Wall", both series had a respectable following. Still popular today, the Eastern rival continues to "crank out" episodes with that typical East German flair. Although filmed in 2005 (some 15 years after the reunification), several "East-West" references are sprinkled all through the script. - This is well worth your time. Enjoy!
