Creating a new shadow
autumnnazarian24 May 2005
In a world full of lonely singles and dissatisfied marriages, the quest for a soul-mate can seem endless and naive. Darcy thinks she has found another path to true happiness--even though her friends and family think she's a nut-job.

Written with dry wit and loving skepticism, the short film Darcy's Off-White Wedding illustrates a family on the verge of a nervous breakdown as the big day commences.

Mark Twain said: "Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination."

Darcy's Off-White Wedding pushes the definitions of both sanity and happiness to create a daring and eccentric event no one is bound to forget.

A really fun, beautifully shot short

This film was a joy to watch - capturing the ultimate expression of self love done in a very clever way - but it's more than just a funny ending, this short says a lot about our marriage obsessed society and illustrates to what lengths it can drive a gal batty!

Extra points for the great attention to detail and beautifully shot locations. Pacing is nice and bouncy with no real stalls letting us skip from scene to scene making it feel like a real wedding day.

A great cast of some really recognizable faces help the story really pop off the screen.

Really looking forward to this filmmakers next effort!
