Good Show
daisims8014 October 2007
This is not Fake like a lot say.It is true stories reconstructed its about a P.I (private Investigator) who owns and runs a family P.I Business. They mix of actual footage to reconstruction to make it all seem real. Its a very good show the acting isn't the best but it about right for the show. Its a real pity that people got confused by it all then rubbished it then the Show only had 2 seasons.

It is set in New York and has a good feel to it all and always has some good twist to it all when they get more evidence for their client. There is a good different and exciting show each time which is never the same.

Its just a shame so many ignorant people got confused and rubbished a good show never listen to the haters just watch a episode and make your own mind up and remember what i have said for you can now make your own mind up whether you like this show or not.

An ergonomically-sound show
endicottcoolmoss10 October 2005
Reality shows suck; Court TV does not suck, however I can channel surf while watching Court TV. That was not the case today Monday, Oct. 10, 2005. Court TV decided to take the day off and provide ten hours of Parco P.I., a show I had never viewed before today. I had seen a few advertisements, but disregarded them because; who needs another reality show? After checking the release dates, I discovered it's been airing since Aug. 28, 2005.

I have been watching nonstop since this morning without eating, answering the door and telephone or surfing the channels. That is unusual, but all is not lost; I am able to still surf the Net while watching. I read a review on the IMDb web site and it must have been written by someone unveiled in one of Parco's cases. Who gives a crap about actual footage or any of the other crap that that person complained about. If you want actual footage, watch the Apprentice. That show use to be watch- able until the main emphasis shifted to 90% on the stupid people. Don't get me wrong, I understand how protagonist vs. antagonist, drama and conflict captivate an audience, but enough on the Dumb and Dumber highlights. They should just edit out all the footwork and produce shows that just include board-room scenes with Trump and his right-hand lady.

Guys, I'm no expert, but to me it seems that with this Parco thing you all have a hit. And, comparing it to other reality shows, it's should be a mega-hit. Hopefully for you the extra ordinary popular delusions and the madness of crowds will shift their interests from their morbid craving for the obliviously-unmindful characters to the sensitively-preceptive and penetrating characters of Parco and crew.

However, if our next major shift is not towards viewing audiences who desire to see the movers and shakers who uncover injustices and settle grievances; well, Parco and crew may be a little bit ahead of their time. Besides, who the hell wants to watch a show where we can pick up a few points and tips on cleverness and common sense.

This Parco guy has more heart and stage presence than Trump has ever had. Hey, I like watching Trump and what he has to say, but I get this fundamental gut feeling that Parco's values and standards are in a different ball park--a winning ball park! Good luck. On a 1 to 10 scale, I give it a 20.

Consummately, Michael Pasquarelli

P.S. it's three o'clock; thank God for the reruns, now I can eat.

This is the worst show I have EVER seen
www6302116 August 2006
I cannot believe I actually set up a 'season pass' on my TiVo for this, apparently they had a good preview or something .. I can't imagine it though. After seeing about 5 minutes I thought to myself.. why am I watching this.. It is definitely not reality, and some of the worst acting I have ever seen on television.. I am a total addict of reality TV and there is nothing real about this. THE ACTING.. (if you can call it that) is awful.. The only ones that are almost 5% decent are the girls that are meant to draw viewers to the show.. although they would need to be a lot prettier to save this train wreck.. if they would have more lines they would probably change my mind as they probably have no talent either. This is obviously a very low budget production with 'actors' who are apparently very cheap. There is no way they could get a job in anything else. Someone needs to direct these people to a job in food service.. Maybe they could do that. Oh and by the way, Parco P.I. no longer occupies any space on my TiVo or TiVo's season pass list. Definitely the worst show I've ever seen.

It's all reenactments and that just doesn't work
brainfood-18 September 2006
I totally agree that the reenactments kill what could otherwise be a great show. I'll admit that I'd seen 1 or 2 episodes last season and was not clear at all that it was all reenacted. But when I caught one episode recently it suddenly jumped out at me BIG TIME and I lost interest immediately. Then I noticed the disclaimer at the start before an episode that followed. Has anyone followed the show closely enough to tell me, did they actually make the "acting" and reenacting parts more artificial on purpose, or did I just not notice before. I'm usually pretty good at sensing this stuff, but the recent episode was so obviously artificial I practically tripped over it. Now I have no interest whatsoever in watching and have given up entirely on it. It just doesn't have any real value if it's all scripted and acted. And at least lately, it seems VERY poorly scripted and acted. The comment above that says who cares if it's all reenactments, I do. Without visual truth, this is just a bunch of "you know what happened, one time this guy" heresay. It's info better read in a book.

Analyze the SHOW not the STORY
jack-cheung8887 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I hate how many people are looking at the cases and calling this a well-polished show. Parco, P.I. is a terrible show with unnecessary elements like Parco filming himself in his yoga classes or giving a show and tell to kindergartners. The show is a reenactment with trash acting and cliché lines, and the show tries to compensate for where it lacks by hiring models to be "assistants," kind of like the women who stand next to cars at a car show. It contains the kind of difficulties that you could only find in some children's deceive show, like a lapel camera being bumped and losing signal. I don't know what happened to Parco's cases, but his memory must have been lost in his derrière. The situations are extremely drawn out, obvious, and lack an interesting case. You could learn more and be more entertained by watching CSI. Hell, even Scooby Doo could solve more complex cases than Parco.

This is just my opinion though. If you're the kind of reality show fanatic and love seeing Kim Kardashian find something to stir up drama with her sisters for no reason, then I guess the dysfunctional portrayal of Parco's family would interest you.

This show sucks!
zrob17 October 2005
The makers of Parco PI need to either use actual case footage or find actors that can act believably (of course they cant use actual case footage because that would be against the law...but they don't tell you that). They also need to stop "Spicing" up the show by what seems to be obvious coaching and scripting of the main characters (Parco & assoc). The familiar similarities to "Charlies Angels" is just another bad attempt to draw in viewers......To the makers of Parco PI....The viewing audience is a lot smarter than you assume...and obviously a lot smarter than you....and if you stopped trying to make the show "better" you would probably boost ratings.....at this point your show seems nothing more than a badly written & acted drama (fictional)....I give it 1 season...tops.

It's NOT Family Bonds, but it's just as good!
GOWBTW31 October 2005
Another reality TV crime show has hit. And Court TV has done it. "Parco P.I." is very intense, and very informative program which helps the victims of crime get justice. This show is very respectful and very well made. Although it's more tame than HBO's Family Bonds, I like it just as well. Vincent Parco and the gang are totally no-nonsense type of investigators who will go to the extremes to help the people who were wronged by these no-gooders. Though it's based in the City of New York, that's the heart of it. I agree with the leader Vinny, his boys need to quit their smoking. After the case is closed, Vinny ends the show saying "I'm watching you". That means beware of Vinny Parco, this guy doesn't play games, if anything bad happens to him or his family, I'll come back to New York and working with him side by side, myself. Good show, it's total no-nonsense crime fighting for me. Rating 4 stars.

Great show
burlfam15 February 2006
We like this show because the content (the cases) are real. The patchy production is less of a distraction as it is a reminder that this is a real working investigation team and not professional actors and story writers. Sure the side plots (lost mail, nagging wife, etc) are unrelated to the case but this is how day to day life is for everyone, not just investigators. The meat here is that the cases presented really happened and the investigation activity is representative of how this sort of work gets done. That Vinny and family aren't polished actors generally makes them more believable not less. Also the voyuer in me likes to see real cases (thats why COPs is popular) not written stories.

It is all staged
thenemesis92426 December 2005
Look at IMDb - the name "BOB SENKEWICZ" Recognize him? Yes, he is the client from "The Broke Yachtsman." I truly loved the show until I found this out. The footage, lines, scenes are all re-enactments/staged scenes. There is no such thing as reality TV. This is no different than America's Most Wanted and I find it repulsing that we are conned into tuning into a show that is supposed to contain "live footage," but is definitely staged!

Here's an excerpt from the actors' web site:

Parco PI Court TV A new program about a real PI and what he does to catch the bad guys. Bob plays a client that has been taken for three million dollars and wants it back.

Look for me in "The Broke Yachtsman" episode as Mr. Banks The series begins airing September 2005
