'Ned Zed' is a curious story that offers a change of pace from the show's usual business. You remember the scenes with Peter Falk and Fred Savage in "The Princess Bride"? This is very much in that vein, with a father recounting to his son the case of dastardly bankrobber Zed. Tongue planted firmly in cheek, this is the show at the height of its pulpy storytelling, and it all but winks at the camera. French guys with cartoon accents, bank holdups, and even a slow death by tree saw.
It's a romp, and the banter between Brisco and Bowler is funnier than ever.
7/10
