After rescuing a delivery ship from pirates Dylan learns that it is carrying orders for him. He is to escort a candidate for the position of Second Triumvir... none other than Beka's 'Uncle' Sid, the dodgy businessman who got her hooked on drugs and tried to kill her! She is not happy to say the least but Dylan accepts the orders... it soon looks as if the mission will be over almost as soon as it started as not long after they contact Sid he is found unconscious; shot in the head. Tensions quickly rise as it emerges that he had established a 'revenge fund' to kill those responsible in the event of his death. Andromeda's crew must try to discover the would-be assassin and attempt to save Sid.
This episode was a lot of fun; largely thanks to the return of John de Lancie as the dubious Sid Profit. I'm only speculating but I wouldn't be surprised if he was intended as a one-off character but impressed enough that he had to be brought back. The story provides an interesting mystery with plenty of suspects; these include political rivals, his own assistant, Beka and there is even the possibility that he staged it himself! There is a decent amount of action and some reasonable surprises. As well as a mystery we get to see that the Commonwealth Dylan dreamt of creating isn't quite turning out as he envisaged; politicians are self-serving and are now telling him what to do. Overall another enjoyable episode.
