Following on from the previous episode Dylan receives a month old distress call from Beka; she is apparently on Seefra-9 so he and Rhade set about acquiring a craft to get there. In a series of flashbacks we see how Beka has found Andromeda, floating dead in space. After sending her distress call she is found by a local salvage unit and ultimately teams up with Jonah Darrega, its leader, in a plan to salvage Andromeda and get her working again. Dylan and Rhade manage to get to Andromeda but Dylan is captured... he and Jonah will soon learn where Beka's true loyalties lie when she is forced to take action that will destroy Andromeda or expose Dylan to a fiery creature known as 'The Core'.
The previous episode saw Dylan reunited with Rhade; this sees him continue to get the band back together as he searches for Beka. This story was well handled; there was a degree of difficulty in finding her then a good sense of threat when her loyalty is in doubt. We then get an enjoyable twist involving the core... neither too obvious nor too surprising. There is a decent amount of action as well a good degree of comedy to be enjoyed. It nicely answers some of the questions about how they all arrived at Seefra while also raising others. Overall a solid conclusion to a two-part story.
