A real surprise. Much better than I remember.

Best part is multiple times Andy & Opie tangle. Andy gets frustrated with his bold Interjections and tries to shoo him away and even gives him a good rough shove like he got from Barney in "Barney Fife Realtor" for spoiling a deal on the Taylor's home sale. Lots of good stuff. I really enjoyed all three versions of the song. Jesse Pearson (Keevy Hazleton) has a very interesting filmography in the '70s.

Keevy's manager (Tom D'Andrea) gives a great performance with masterfully timed remarks and a terrific comedic knack. He was the "Green Acres" booking officer when Arnold Ziffel and Ralph Monroe (Mary Grace Canfield) get drafted by the army. Brian Foulger as the hotel clerk is always a treat to see.

Episode is a true forgotten gem. Bee and Clara get a little annoying with their pushiness and crying. Decent epilogue with the ladies writing a new song. End to a strong season 6. I rated each episode an average of 8 out of 10.

Just Plain Awful

The whole premise of this show is beyond belief. Why this guy, doing a show in Raleigh, would be such a big shot performer is beyond me. That and two old ladies extorting him into doing a song they wrote. It was embarrassing to watch. I can feel Andy's pain.

PATHETIC

Warning: Spoilers
Bee Taylor and her friend, Clara are determined to get a singing celebrity passing through Mayberry to perform a song they wrote about Mayberry on tv. They are so pushy that they even get him to come to dinner, using poor Andy to extend the invitation, just to hear their song. At first the celebrity graciously turns down the invitation, until Opie begs him to come. However when the celebrity falls asleep while Bee and Clara are singing, they insist on going to his hotel to further push him to sing their song! The best part of this pathetic episode is when Andy shoves Opie out the door in disgust after begging the celebrity to accept the invitation to dinner. BTW, no mention of any royalties for the women's song was mentioned.
