Lt. Biddle is a bit of a putz in this episode.

When the episode begins, a nurse is walking in a parking lot with a man and out of the blue, a car careens through the lot and deliberately runs over the man! Later you learn that the man was going to the police about a crook...and the woman, oddly, just disappeared and didn't stick around to talk to the police. To complicate things, the woman is already a secret witness against this same gangster...and she and Lt. Biddle (John Carter) are AWFULLY close to each other. What really goes on here?
This is a decent episode and you get to see the recurring guest, Carter, play a more prominent role...and is also a bit of a putz because he is taken in so well by the woman. What's next? See the show. Overall, this is a pretty good episode and it's worth your time.

LT. BIDDLE IN A MANNIX TYPE OF JAM.

For all us MANNIX fans, this story is quite familiar, all about romancing a gangster's girlfriend. But there's a clever twist. Generally, this should have been an episode revolving around JR, who got himself involved with lots of women in BIG trouble. Instead, series writer Norman Jolley wrote it around Lt Biddle for a change of pace.
Biddle, it turns out, has ties to a gangster's girlfriend. To further complicate matters, the gangster is accused of killing a witness. Very interesting material when you put Biddle in the middle of it all, also a good role for actor John Carter, allowing him to show off his acting skills in a different scenario. Of course, JR's investigation lands him in hot water with the cops, but Biddle is the center of attention.
Two popular actors put this episode over the top. Pretty Trish Stewart, who would later appear on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, plays Julie, also in a very good performance. Catch dramatic actor Jonathan Goldsmith, always fun to watch. Goldsmith gained wide acclaim in tv commercials as the Dos Esquis beer spokesperson.
By the way, John Carter gets star billing in the opening credits, and rightly so.
Final episode of the season. SEASON 7 EPISODE 25 remastered color/CBS.
