Good Epispode

Guy Williams appears to be enjoying his part as a guest- star in a solid,action-packed show with plenty of fighting and shooting.Worth seeing. I read somewhere that Williams was in 5 episodes while Pernell Roberts hemmed and hawed on staying or quitting the show. I think that Williams brings a lot more life into his role as 'Will Cartwright' than Roberts seems to put into the bland 'Adam Cartwright'. This episode has a few slow spots but all in all I give it an 8.

Part of the family

In this Bonanza story, guest Guy Williams has not made up his mind whether he's staying on at the Ponderosa or not, While he's home alone some army troopers come in with a wounded Scott Marlowe who tried to rob an army payroll. Shortly after that Marlowe's gang comes in and kills all the troopers and take Williams and the doctor he brought for Marlowe hostage.

The gang also has Julie Sommers as hostage. She's Marlowe's estranged spouse.

Marlowe is one dangerous psychotic and Guy Williams has to some fast talking to keep himself and the others alive. He has one good gift of gab though.

Nice episode with Guy Williams as Will Cartwright center stage.

Warning: Spoilers
Oh my gosh. The other reviewers must NOT have seen the same episode I saw. I really don't know where to begin with all the flaws in this unbelievable episode. It's like when they got Guy Williams to be one of the Cartwrights, the writers left town and let a child write the script. Some thugs have invaded the Cartwright house, kill 3 soldiers, and are holding Will and a doctor hostage. Will Cartwright(Guy Williams) makes up a story to make the thugs believe he wants to help them, so the thugs will leave the Ponderosa before Ben and the boys get back. The thugs start to be suspicious of Will so he makes up another lie. This happens over and over at least 3 times and each time the thugs will probably kill everyone anyway even if they believe Will and will kill them when they find out his lies.

Another time a bartender is told by Will at a bar/cafe they have relocated to, to get the sheriff when Will or the bartender has no clue where the sheriff and the Cartwrights are and they happen to be out on the prairie. The very next scene the sheriff and Cartwrights are riding to the bar/ cafe which the thugs have invaded.

OK I am having a hard time recalling all the convoluted flaws in this episode but will end with asking how many times was the leader of the thugs going to tell Will "I really like you" even though the thug was suspicious of Will, and how many scenes were there with the actors just standing around looking like they didn't know where they were. WOW.

Anyway the episode ends with the thugs dead and the Cartwrights being real friendly toward Will, who basically got them into the mess with all his lies. UNBEIEVABLE.
