While the third season has edged a little more toward the silly end of the spectrum, the writers have started to get a handle on a few of the characters.
This episode plays out in a pretty standard way, with Marcia expressing insecurity about her abilities, which leads to the other kids conspiring to compliment her into thinking she's a skilled actress. Of course, this works too effectively, and Marcia turns into a bit of a diva. Where the episode reaches some new territory is after Mike and Carol tell her how badly she's behaving, and that the understudy will be stepping in for her role. Marcia has a bit of a breakdown, crying and such.
Usually, when the Brady kids are upset, they either pout a little, or they get politely confused. ("Two boys asked me out. What should I do?") This is a little uncomfortable. It's sort of nice.
Also notable - I believe that Greg wears a purple outfit in this episode. Light purple shirt, darker purple pants. Did kids really dress like that?
