In "Great Expectations" you learn that Alan is no ordinary student. In fact, he's so smart that he's been accepted into one of the top schools for high school. Not surprisingly, his mother and grandma are thrilled and begin bragging to anyone and everyone. However, no one other than his father seems to be considering what Alan would like...and Alan is not thrilled about not seeing all his friends as well as the long ride to the Bronx each day to school
As for Alan's friends, they all took an aptitude test like Alan did but their results aren't as spectacular as Alan's. Oddly, Benny learned he'd make a great park ranger...which is odd since he's never left Brooklyn!
Overall, a very good episode but one that is not self-contained. In other words, this is a two-part episode and you'll need to see the next to see what happens to the boys.
