"The Doctor Story" finds Ed suffering a sore shoulder but refusing to see a doctor. Regular customer Alfred (Bill McLean) agrees that a doctor wouldn't be any good, while mail lady Mabel (Bonnie Boland, fifth of six) makes the mistake of hanging her mailbag on the bad shoulder. Forced to visit a real quack, Ed winds up with the extremely youthful Dr. Crowley (Danny Goldman), in baseball cap and glove, who wants Ed to undergo a complete medical checkup. Eventually, a simple injection is all that's necessary to solve the problem. The best moment comes when the ever flirtatious Mabel helps Ed undulate his swaying meridians, followed by his asking her out for dinner!
