World famous 'male actress' Charles Pierce
kevinolzak22 July 2016
"The Dress" sees Ed donating his late wife's favorite dress to a charity auction at the garage, and is delighted to receive $56 in exchange. Only when he learns that the buyer is female impersonator Brad Rushton (Charles Pierce) does he go berserk and strike him in front of witnesses, unwilling to allow his beloved Margaret's memory to be soiled by a man. A possible lawsuit forces Ed to apologize for his behavior, only to be dazzled by Rushton's obvious talent for old time Hollywood actresses, pleased to allow him to keep the dress after all. 'Master and Mistress of Surprise or Disguise' Charles Pierce was acclaimed around the world for his impersonations of Tallulah Bankhead, Bette Davis, and Marlene Dietrich, all of whom are on display here, finally proclaiming Ed to be quite a man (Chico: "you're quite a lot of ladies!"). Danny Mora makes his second of five appearances as Della's assistant Salvador, though she herself is absent.
