Blackmail leads to murder
Paularoc11 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
A man kills another man with a bow and arrow. The murdered man was an agent named Crawford of the Federal Crime Commission who was investigating a blackmail racket. Agent Walter Cronin asks for Matt Anders to help in the investigation. Crawford had been showing special interest in a trashy magazine called Shock. Anders goes to the Shock office pretending he wants a job as a writer. But the editor's associate, a crooked ex-cop, recognizes Anders. At one point the editor tells his associate that "Everbody has something they don't want to see in print." The investigation leads to another blackmail victim and ends with a gunfight. Cronin and Anders later discuss how to put trashy magazines out of business in light of the First Amendment. Cronin tells Anders that all it will take is for people to stop buying them. This discussion was the most interesting part of show. Cronin was right but also way to optimistic. Another entertaining episode in this series.
