Whilst I watch this TV episode, I can't prevent myself to think of what Sidney Lumet did several years later. An accurate character study with social implications. The story itself may not keep your attention, but if you watch it closely, I assure you that you'll be surprised by the way of filming despite the early television efforts. Bewate the painful and more than bittersweet ending. I have rarely seen such a poor lead character for whom we feel a deep sympathy. It's not a crime flick, you have to deal with here, but a pure drama for which I won't repeat the plot line explained in the topic line above. I know I repeat myself, but it's a real shame that no more of this rare TV show were saved in the TV industry vaults. Many of those features were made by next to be great directors such Sidney Lumet, Sidney Pollack, John Frankenheimer, Franklin Schaffner...
