Friday and Gannon are contacted by a local high school. It seems that during the school day, one of the kids just disappeared. Friday and Gannon have a hard time finding her as well, but eventually meet up with her sister--who says all is well and the police can drop their investigation. However, things just don't add up and eventually Friday begins to wonder if there even is a sister.
This is an interesting psychological episode. What I particularly like is that they never used the diagnosis "Multiple Personality Disorder" (or its newer name, "Dissociative Identity Disorder"), as this was not what was occurring. The girl knew full well she had created a new identity for herself--she just liked posing as this younger girl because of her own inadequacies and insecurities. A very unusual situation indeed, but also one that made me sit up and take notice. Well done and well worth seeing.
