Always need to laugh
deanpodbury26 April 2020
My brother has Down syndrome and this is his favourite episode. I've also been struggling with my own mental health issues for my entire life and I believe everyone needs to have a good laugh at themselves. It helps keep spirits up and not focus on the 'down' side of things :)

The One Where Peter Is Legally Declared Mentally Disabled...
taylorkingston26 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It is one of my all-time favorite Family Guy episodes. And not just from Season 4, overall.

In this episode, Peter wins a child's version of Trivial Pursuit and becomes very obnoxious and he becomes convinced that he's a genius. So he decides to get himself tested to prove it to his family. But when the results come back, they're something very unexpected. It turns out that Peter is legally mentally disabled. He actually calls past girlfriends to tell them, to make sure they get themselves tested. He thinks it's something you pass on to other people like STD's. Peter then starts taking advantage of his new-found disability, but then he realizes that his actions still have consequences.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.

An excellent episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode of Family Guy is my favorite so I may seem a little biased. The episode showed that Peter is mentally disabled and he thinks that he can do anything because he is, hijinks ensue and a lesson is learned. The episode also has some of the best jokes in the series, such as: "so your going to talk down to everyone because you won a game of trivial pursuit? Perhaps."

I also get that some of the things Peter does and says is offensive to some, but it's just to add a little humor to a serious topic, Family Guy is not a drama but a comedy and should be treated as a comedy that might have some dark jokes in it. The writers didn't mean to offend anyone with the story and jokes in the episode. The comedy in this episode might not be your style of humor if you can laugh at tragedy.

Overall this episode is nicely written, funny, and one of the best episodes of the series.

The day I get corrected by a retard!!
Pianoboi8427 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is my favorite episode! So many great Gags and constant retarded jokes. The bye bye birdie scene is one of the best ever written. Also the Jake and the fat man joke...15+ years later I'm still laughing and quoting it. The retarded jokes are right up there with the wheelchair jokes surrounding Joe. Also the fact that peters New England accent makes the word retarded Sound even funnier, This is classic family guy and a great example of what made it stick to pop culture. Excellent writing! I'm sure someone somewhere will be crybabying over this episode but that just shows they have no sense of humor.

It's kind of fun watching things get worse and worse
celiawatsonanime10 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
He acts like he can get away with everything now because of a flunked IQ test, which isn't actually the case.

Would've been more fun if the kids didn't get sent to live with Cleeveland(Peter's friend) and got sent to live with a stranger that they dislike.

This episode was not funny to me at all but i felt mildly entertained by the story.

Worst episode ever!!
alanbourbeau2417 April 2020
To be honest, I have to say this is the worst episode ever that Seth Kearlsley and the crew ever made. Joking about people who have a mental health disorder is no laughing matter. I have a mental health disability and I feel deeply offended. So does my cousin. As for the people who created this episode, shame on them.
