Polly Clarke, a well known novelist of gritty text is on the island, she keeps bumping into Ted, and ends up staying at The Parochial House, he's a little taken with her.

It is a hilarious episode, Ted is a little thrown by the arrival of Gemma, and ends up twisting and turning, and lying his head off, it's a hilarious scene where he tries to get out of doing Mass.

Gemma Craven is very good as Polly, the Nuns are so funny.

Someone I know is dying, is it serious?

Brilliant. 9/10

You're thinking of the episode "Rock-A-Hula" (the "Lovely Girls" episode)...

Warning: Spoilers
...in the second season, with Clare Grogan (as C.P. Grogan for union reasons) as a guest star playing Niamh Connelly - an angry, Sinead O'Connor-esquire pop star. Grogan had a pop band in the early 80's called "Altered Images".

"And God Created Woman" finds Ted uncomfortable with seemingly coincidental, non-stop, run-ins with a woman who writes steamy novels (Ted's guilty pleasure) and who takes an apparent interest in Ted - eventually ending up at the Parochial House to stay for the evening. Ted's extreme discomfort with this, mixed with his attraction to the woman, lead to the usual fun.
