The suspicious, bumbling Captain Fomento
JordanThomasHall21 August 2018
The new suspicious, bumbling Captain of Police Gaspar Fomento (preeminent Italian TV character actor Vito Scotti) bought 10 tickets at the convent's bazar for a TV set raffle that is won by Carlos, who only bought one ticket and donated the prize. He also loses $25 in Carlos' wheel of fortune that no one won. Captain Fomento suggests the contests are crooked and suspects Carlos' casino the same. Police Chief Galindo (Don Diamond, "F Troop") tells Formento to stop but he secretly plants a man named Nacio (Frank Ramirez) to take the convent's open gardener position in hopes of finding evidence. Nacio has his own secrets, however.

Despite making an appearance in the Season One episode "Sister Lucky" we are introduced to Vito Scotti's police captain. His skilled comedic style adds a needed dimension of humor to the sitcom. Even when overplayed, the slapstick breathes refreshing new life into the series as the second season starts.
