Enjoyable and curious in equal measure.

Scientist Professor Weiss has been working on a very novel way to preserve food, with radioactivity, on his way to an important assignment he is ambushed, and a radioactive capsule he was carrying, falls into the hands of some children.

Tim Collier, the wonderful Dan Dailey is on the case. I rather enjoyed this, it's a lot of story to pack in to a running time of about 26 minutes. We have threat, danger and oodles of double crossing.

A good story, I love the novelty of the idea, radioactive food, in fairness it's not a million miles away from what we have now. So the kids were a little irritating, especially the one with the dubbed voice, but overall it's a pleasing case.

Collier is of course ready and willing, armed with every gadget required, Dailey is always great value, he's in good company here alongside Elwyn Brook Jones and the wonderful Frederick Schecker. I've only just watched Schecker in Dr Who, The Web of Fear, where he memorably played Julius Silverstein in episode one, lovely actor.

7/10.

The Deadly Capsule

Professor Weiss is an atomic scientist who has discovered a process to preserve food.

Nuclear science as a cause for good rather than destruction.

However Scheye who claims to be a good friend of the professor has been keeping tabs on his progress.

He engineers Professor Weiss's death with a car accident, when he is on his way to Paris from his institute in Grenoble.

The professor's widow urges journalist Tim Collier to investigate.

Both Collier and Scheye team up to find a lost capsule that emits radiation. It lay somewhere the car crash happened.

Only some local children found the capsule not knowing how dangerous it is.

However does Collier have suspicions about Scheye?

A good adventure, Scheye was such an obvious baddie that it would not take much for Collier to be suspicious of him.

The kids angle was good, especially as they all conspired to stop the adults finding the capsule. They were no match for a Geiger counter.
