Edgy and well paced, impressive episode.

Tim Collier attends a secret assignation with a man named Guy de Seiberd, he doesn't turn up, Tom gets a beating for his trouble. Determined to find out the truth, Collier visits Normandy, and discovers a family full of secrets.

Rather good, The Grandmother is a more edgy episode, it has a bit of tension, and rates as one of the only times that one of The Four Just Men was placed in real and present danger.

It was good to see Nicole playing a slightly more active role, too often she was sent away out of danger. We learn that Tim isn't perhaps the greatest singer alive.

The hunting scene looked very good, it was definitely atmospheric, you got a sense of Collier's life being under threat. Some good location work here too, scenes at The Train Station looked great.

Great performance from Dan Dailey as always, I tested Marie Ney as the family Matriarch too.

A stronger episode.

8/10.

The Grandmother

Tim Collier is investigating corruption in high places. He goes to a club to arrange a rendezvous that leaves him badly beaten.

The de Sieberds are an old French military family, very few of the men have died in bed.

One of the them, Guy de Seiberd claims that faulty ammunition wiped out his platoon in the Algerian war. Once out of hospital, his investigation has shown his was not the only platoon to suffer that fate.

Tim Collier goes to the village in Normandy to visit the family. Only the matriarchal grandmother plans to keep everything hidden. She is a formidable woman.

It means that Tim's life is in danger during a hunting party.

Tim will not easily give up. He discovers payments have been made to the de Sieberds to buy their silence.

A good story that would had been current during the French/Algerian war. Collier is a world war two veteran himself who is a good sly match for the Grandmother.
