A poor episode.

Ben Manfred is on the hunt for the killer of a woman, Rosanna, a woman who was opposed to the the dictatorship in Guatarica, it is believed that her killer is hiding in the embassy, and as such has diplomatic immunity.

This is tbw first episode so far, that I've found to be a total chore to get through, painfully slow, uninteresting, and a storyline that sadly just didn't work.

The sixties was a time when you seen all manner of weird and wonderful South American dictatorships pop up in all sorts of shows, and here we get Guatarica, another that just doesn't work.

GP3, I'm not sure what that car is, but it's amazingly beautiful, it's perhaps the best thing about this whole episode.

Jack Hawkins is always good, June Thorburn put in a good shift, but sadly it was a flat affair.

4/10.

Written by Leon Griffiths who went on to create the television series Minder.

Ben Manfred MP goes to see Rosanna Lopez who has some information about her troubled country Guatarica. It is a dictatorship.

Manfred finds her dead in her flat. The killer is inside the Guatarica embassy and is being shielded by the diplomats.

Manfred suspects it is Ricardo Hernandez but his girlfriend is adamant that Ricky is no murderer.

Just maybe Ricky is being held inside the embassy as a prisoner because he is a dissident of his country.

The story is bound to have a few twists. As well as the old chestnut that the police have no jurisdiction inside a foreign embassy.

As evern Ben Manfred has several ideas but he seems to rush headlong unprepared.
