Lex Lycian is the target of Gamble's present investigation, a suave, cold fraudster, who's been pushed too far by Gamble, he threatens to settle the score.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, such a good episode. Great story, very different to the two that went before, the raised level of 'threat' does actually make a difference. It has a slightly more serious edge.
I loved the visuals, it looked so good, the scenes at the ball in particular, Gamble looks so smart and elegant, Hicks looks stunning.
What a fabulous cast here, loved seeing the likes of Angela Browne and Sheila Gish, best of all though, a superb performance from Michael Gambon, who made Lycian very sincere, very believable, always great to see early Michael Gambon.
Hard to fault, if you, like me adore the 1960's, you could do worse than lose yourself in this for fifty minutes.
Great story, 8/10.
