I Can Relate.

Warning: Spoilers
Sisterly Love really does a good job in depicting sibling rivalry--one of the key elements of the show. To me, that is where the show gets its strength. Many episodes in the future about this subject have weak stories with strong gags that make up for it. Sisterly Love finds a better balance.

Aside from sibling rivalry, this is one of those episodes where we DJ as a spoiled brat. Her ego gets the better of her by doing a good performance at school of the "Frog and the Princess." Jesse gets her hopes up about doing professional acting and she nags Danny into letting her audition for a cereal commercial. She does a good job, but Stephanie--just having fun--gets the part instead, leaving DJ feeling angry and jealous. She is actually sick of sisters, but doesn't see the bright side of being the oldest. She wants everything for herself. I can relate to that because I am the little sibling, so I know cute, and I know sacrificing because the older sibling is jealous. I can also relate with DJ anger of not getting the commercial.

The subplot in this features Joey deciding to completely eliminate junk food after his doctor telling him of his high cholesterol. A very great subplot.

When DJ and Stephanie reconcile, it isn't any revelation, just a reminder to any older sibling.

A traitor lives here

In this episode, D. J. got a sudden taste for acting after a successful part in a play. So without thinking, Jesse suggested she try to get an acting part in a commercial. Of course, Danny was grateful...not...but he found her a part and gave her permission to go audition.

D. J.'s audition went well. The woman conducting the auditions was all set to hire her, but Stephanie ended up with the part purely by accident! D.J., of course, is very, very unhappy and chooses to ignore her sister. Danny warns Joey and Jesse before he goes to work that an explosion is about to happen, and it does. They have to deal with the consequences.

A sub-plot in this episode: Joey gets some test results back from the doctor and decides to go on a health food diet and give up ALL junk food. The results is a lesson for us all.

There's nothing earth-shattering or new in this episode, but we do see the sisters fighting. This is really the first time you see Jesse and Joey disciplining the girls.

Sisters Fight!

Warning: Spoilers
D.J gets the acting bug but Danny is reluctant to let her go to an audition. When he finally caves in, an ecstatic DJ nails her audition, impressing everyone. While she's out preparing, Stephanie inadvertently steals her part. D.J is incensed and feels Stephanie stole it from her, while Stephanie thinks DJ is jealous. Meanwhile, Joey's cholesterol is too high and he's forced to try to eat healthier. I really enjoyed this episode. It's the first time the sisters have real conflict with one another. Candace Cameron Bure did a great job at showing anger and frustration in this one. I especially enjoyed her feet stomps to get her point across. Jodi Sweetin was impressive as well for her age, handling a heavy issue like that. It was a good message about tempering your expectations, in case of reality happening. By the way. Isn't it kind of ironic that DJ wanted to become an actress?
