Jonathan (Harlen Carraher) and Candace (Kellie Flanagan) (and Scruffy) befriends a seal they find at the beach. The sea mammal has become a nuisance to town constable Delbert (familiar character actor Irwin Charone) who offers a $25 reward to locate it. Naturally, this puts Claymore (Charles Nelson Reilly) hot on its trail. Jonathan talks Candace into hiding the seal in their bathtub. Mrs. Muir (Hope Lange) finds the seal, but is sympathetic. Captain Gregg (Edward Mulhare) finds a tag that indicates that the seal came from Aqualand in Florida. They are entertained by the trained seal "Algie", which is spotted by a snooping Claymore and Delbert. They conspire to capture Algie and make money off his talents. The family conspires back.
