A ghostly man appears at Gull Cottage dressed as an early 19th century seaman/smuggler. He identifies himself as Able Seaman 4th Class Elroy Applegate (Dom DeLuise, "Lotsa Luck", Mel Brooks films), who was a bumbling part of the Captain Gregg's (Edward Mulhare) crew over 100 years before. He comes looking for help to haunt a house "and settle down", but is afraid of people. The Captain reluctantly takes him in tutelage.
