Good cast including George Kennedy and Harry Carey but no ladies. Standard Have Gun story with plenty of historical quotes. IMBD seems to be rubber stamping Filming Locations as Paramount Studios Melrose Ave location but central Oregon locations such as Black Butte and Three Sisters are clearly visible in most of the out door scenes.

An episode with many legal allusions

Early on, Judge Carter mentions obiter dictum and later references a 16th century legal case, wth the caption finished by Paladin, who then cites Blackstone. There is an interesting line about illusion vs. reality in law. The plot revolves around an on-the-spot will with interesting contingencies.
