While I did NOT think Susan Dey was 'hot' like the other reviewer insists, I was very impressed by her acting in this episode. Many times she showed such wonderful expression with her eyes--eyes that glazed up and betrayed wonderful emotion. While she's rarely considered a great actress (probably due to her "Partridge Family" days), here she was most impressive. I also loved Marc Singer--mostly because his character was written so wonderfully-making him one of the nicest people I've ever seen on the show! Together, the two made this ordinary episode most extraordinary.
The show begins with a courier (Dey) arguing with her boss. It seems she has begun to suspect that he is skimming money--money she's been bringing from mobsters in Vegas to be laundered in Hawaii. The problem is that she's now worried the mob might think she is betraying them and confronts the boss. In the process, she grabs his gun and shoots him. He's only wounded, however, but IS soon killed by hit men who have been sent to kill him and Dey. It seems the Mob has suspected BOTH have been skimming. Dey is able to escape and spends most of the show on the run--afraid of the mob but also afraid to contact the police because she believes (incorrectly) that she's killed a man.
As I said, the plot seemed pretty ordinary but was handled very well by the guests. Dey was great and Singer was so incredibly sweet--heck, if I was the girl, I would have fallen in love with such a sweet dorky guy! Well worth seeing.
