I loved this romantic episode as a kid and was so distressed at the ending. Come back, Mattie!

Episode I Remember Best

From 1968-1971 I never missed an episode of Lancer finding Jim Stacy most attractive. I would love to see Blind Man's Buff as I never forgot it. Can't review the whole show as I only remember bits and pieces like when Maddie, who is mute, hides Johnny, shot in the head, in her root cellar and in order to tell him that trouble is coming she bangs the wooden bowl on the table.
The story is about Johnny and Maddie and even though Johnny has temporarily be blinded and Maddie is mute they somehow communicate. She saves him at the end and then leaves him. If you saw this episode back then you couldn't forget Johnny wanting her to stay and his heart wrenching cries to 'come back Maddie' were etched in your mind. Great acting by Stacy and Baur.
