Smarmy Entertainment Weekly reporter Robert Brody (ably played to the oily hilt by Joshua Malina) does a piece on what happens behind the scenes on Larry's show.
Naturally, this episode offers a wondrous wealth of hilarious dysfunction: Arthur (a marvelously cantankerous Rip Torn) takes constant coarse issue with Brody's inane and annoying questions when he isn't getting it on with his paramour Elizabeth Ashley (quite a sexy delight here), John Ritter and Gene Siskel get into a heated argument over the film "Skin Deep," Phil (an amusingly whiny Wallace Langham) gets bitten on the hand by a stray dog who's been adopted off the street by Darlene (sweet Linda Doucett), and Warren Zevon tries to weasel his way out of singing "Werewolves of London" on the show only to be put on the spot by Larry (the King of Slow Burn Angst Garry Shandling in peak uptight form) and thus forced to sing it anyway. Absolute acidic gold.
