He Draws Fast, Shoots Straight, and Hates Crime
hogwrassler14 September 2020
Mark Rote sees his crime reformer father murdered in the street in Cottonwood. The town is run by a small gang of criminals who control the jury. When the murderer is acquitted, Make rails about it in the courtroom and the murderer grabs a gun, but Mark draws fast and shoots straight, killing him. Mark is then appointed sheriff by the honest judge. The Ranger opposes the move, but the judge says, "he draws fast, shoots straight, and hates crime." Mark stops a bank robbery but suspects former gunman Baxter Crowe of being involved. The Ranger and Tonto have the double problem of cleaning up the leaders of the criminal effort, and at the same time prevent Mark from killing Baxter Crowe in a fit of righteous anger against all sinners and criminals. A very good episode and Alan Wells is really convincing as the self-righteous Mark Rote.
